Quick answer

In Bahrain, annual-leave entitlement is 30 days a year — 2.5 days for each month of service — earned in proportion to the time you work (Bahrain Labour Law No. 36 of 2012, Art. 58). A worker must take at least 15 days a year, including 6 consecutive days (Art. 59). Leave is paid on the basic wage plus the social allowance.

How annual leave builds up in Bahrain

Bahrain grants a flat 30 days of annual leave a year — 2.5 days for each completed month of service, with no increase tied to length of service. Leave accrues in proportion to the time you have worked, so this calculator shows the days earned for any length of employment and the balance remaining after leave taken.

Annual leave is paid on the basic wage plus the social allowance. A worker who has served less than a year is entitled to leave in proportion to their period of employment, and any balance still owing when you leave is paid in cash — use the Leave Salary calculator for that figure.

Taking and carrying leave

  • You must take at least 15 days of annual leave a year, including 6 consecutive days (Art. 59).
  • The remaining balance can generally be carried over or, on leaving, paid in cash.
  • Public holidays are separate from annual leave.
