Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most about how Mukafi works. Looking for a specific country's gratuity rules? Each calculator page has its own FAQ with the exact law citation.

Using Mukafi

Is Mukafi really free?

Yes. Every calculator on Mukafi is free to use, with no sign-up and no limit on how many times you can use it.

Do I need to create an account or sign in?

No. Mukafi is fully anonymous — there is no account, login, or sign-up. Open a country page, enter your details, and get your result.

Which countries and languages does Mukafi cover?

All six GCC states — UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain — each with a dedicated calculator, in both English and Arabic with full right-to-left support.

What's the difference between gratuity, EOSB, and indemnity?

They’re different names for the same legal entitlement — a lump sum paid to eligible employees who leave after completing the minimum service period. UAE and Qatar commonly say “gratuity”, Kuwait often says “indemnity”, and “end-of-service benefit (EOSB)” is used across the whole region.

Do all six GCC countries have gratuity laws?

Yes — UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain each mandate an end-of-service payment, though the formula, wage base, and any resignation reduction differ by country. See each country's calculator page for its specific rules.

Accuracy & the law

How accurate are the results?

Each calculator is built directly from the labour law article cited on its page, cross-checked against official ministry guidance. Results are estimates for guidance — always verify a final figure with your employer or a qualified lawyer before acting on it.

Is the result legal advice?

No. Mukafi is a calculator, not a law firm, and using it does not create a lawyer-client relationship. Results are estimates to help you understand your likely entitlement before speaking with your employer, HR, or a qualified lawyer.

Why does my result differ from a colleague's?

Gratuity depends on basic salary, exact service length, contract type, and reason for leaving, so two employees at the same company can get different results even under the same law. Company policies more generous than the legal minimum, or allowances included in some contracts, can also cause a difference.

How often is Mukafi updated?

We review each country’s formula against its official source on an ongoing basis, and immediately after any labour-law change we become aware of. Every calculator page shows a “last verified” date — Oman and Bahrain currently carry extra notices because both countries are mid-transition to new systems.

What if I think my result is wrong?

Start by re-checking your inputs — basic salary, exact start and end dates, and reason for leaving all materially affect the result. If you still think there's an error in the formula itself, contact us with the details and we'll look into it.

Privacy & your data

Does Mukafi store my salary or personal details?

No. Your salary, dates, and contract details are calculated entirely in your browser and are never sent to our servers. The only information we ever store is what you choose to type into the optional lead or contact forms.

What data do you collect if I fill in a form?

Only what you actively provide. The optional lead form collects your name, work email, company size, and the page you submitted from; the contact form collects your name, email, subject, and message. Neither is required to see your calculator result.
